The winter transfer will be a time that might open doors for Suarez who appeared desperate to leave the club, during the summer window, if allowed to move. Rogers and his side is also aware that the situation might just go out of hand this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and would spark off another drama like the last summer transfer season. So that brings us to the question – who’ll replace Luis Suarez at Infield?
It's obvious that filling the shoe of the Suarez won't be easy for any player as well for the club itself as he is of so much influence when on the field.
Let’s have a look at the possible replacements of Luis Suarez which Liverpool would think if the notorious striker quits the Anfield.
5) Burak Yilmez – approx25-30 million
Having scored 24 goals in last 30 appearances for giants Galatasaray which includes 8 goals in as many matches have surely made eyeballs of various clubs in Europe to turn on him. In fact Skysports also went on to mention in one of the reports that “LFC is closely monitoring his situation”, while Galatasaray had admitted once about selling Burak if given a fair and good price for the player.
4) Jackson Martinez – 25 million
Liverpool came close of signing him in the last summer transfer itself but eventually lost to FC Porto. The 26-year old Colombian International has been in sublime form ever since joining Porto netting 26 times in the last as well as the debut season for the same. Quick and accurate inside the box can be a perfect replacement for Luis Suarez. Looks difficult to get him at the Anfield but Porto could sell him off if given a good amount.
3) Diego Costa – 50 million or even higher
The 25-year old Atletico Madrid striker is having the form of his life scoring a many as 16 goals in the last 15 matches, including 2 goals in the Champions League. Similar to Suarez in playing style, Costa can also fit perfectly in Rogers 4-4-2 formation. ATM striker was rumoured to be linked up with the reds for much of the last transfer season. Already extended his contract at his current club, Liverpool will have a shell a good amount, over 50 million pounds for this transfer to all be turned into a reality as well as a possibility. Not sure if LFC at this stage can afford to spend such a huge amount on a single player alone.
2) Alvaro Morata – Approx 20 million pounds
The 20-year old had made his way to train with the senior team at Bernabue during Jose Mourinho’s tenure and has made it into the first team this season quite often. Quick in the air and fast on the ground, Morata is one of the hottest pick and best young lads in Europe. If Suarez quits Liverpool, Rogers will be looking to invest in the Real Madrid player keeping long term dividends in mind also with the age factor running at Alvaro’s side.
1) David Villa – 12-18 million pounds
Having won almost everything right from the La Liga to the Champions League during his stint at Barcelona and also the World Cup as well as the Euro Cup after being the part of his national side Spain, Villa can provide a good short term solution to the Liverpool’s woes if Suarez quits during the upcoming winter transfer. With only the advancing age degrading his C.V, Villa has immense experience of playing football at the highest level and can prove his worth by fixing LFC’s problem.
