Liverpool FC Winter Transfer - Top 5 targets, Xabi Alonso to return to Barclays Premier League

With Liverpool improving slowly match by match, the winter transfer can provide an additional boost to what is needed to be there to be at the top of the table and to give a hard challenge to the top clubs in the Barclays Premier league.
Despite a 50 million pounds plus signing in the summer transfer already, what Liverpool lack is the attacking options in the wide areas. Moses- on loan from Chelsea, Henderson and Coutinho have been more comfortable playing their top games in the central midfield rather than playing as a winger. Rogers therefore is left with no option but to make Glenn Johnson (RB) playing as a winger on the right and Jose Enrique (LB) as a left winger in some of the games at the cost of weakening the defense.
Liverpool after spending most of the summer transfer amount on strengthening the defense will be looking to add up some good and quality attacking options in order to offload some of the workload on SAS
and also to bring in some quality wingers so that they could supply crosses from the wide areas regularly.
What makes the door open for a good transfer season at the Anfield is there more than expected start to their Premier League campaign. Impressive start to the season is good enough to overshadow LFC’s inability of qualifying for the Champions League. Currently placed 2nd makes a promise to qualify for the CL next season if they continue their great run which also makes the door wide open to bring in some lost glory and big name back in the club.
Here is the list of 5 players that can come to the Anfield this winter.
5) Loic Remy – QPR
20-year old QPR player has been a stand out performer for the relegated side where he has scored goals as well as created chances for other to net the ball. Remy will be looking to join to join bigger clubs in the league and have a bright future after recently being arrested on the charges of ‘suspicion of rape’. Also being a striker gives Rogers some extra fire power in the team.
4) Juan Mata – Chelsea
The last day of the summer transfer was all about Liverpool’s chase for Juan Mata where the Blues rejected two bids from the reds without much thinking on it. Out- Of – favor, Mata is desperate to have starts in the first team and wants considerable playing time on the field. Liverpool can offer him both – starts as well as playing time. Also a position in the top-4 also improves LFC’s chances of bringing Mata at Anfield which seemed unreal as of now.
3) Jackson Martinez – FC Porto
The rumors of Martinez joining Liverpool is catching up the pace. The 27-year old Colombian international is in great form lately scoring 26 goals in 20 matches in the premier Liga games. What makes him even more favorites of joining the Reds is the multiple positions in which he can play in the team. Inclusion of Jackson will help sharing some load of SAS.
 2) Jeremy Menez – PSG
Rogers known to be a long term fan of Menez has been rumored to have signed a deal to bring him at the Melwoods when the window of the transfer opens up in January.  With the deteriorating relationship with the manager of the PSG – one thing is for sure that Jeremy Menez is unsettled and wants to leave as soon as the transfer window opens. The deal is reported to have cost LFC around 10-15 million pounds.
 1) Xabi Alonso – Real Madrid
Having already stocked in Steven Gerrard, Henderson, Lucas Livia, Joe Allen in the midfield – Liverpool is all set to make way for Xabi Alonso’s 2nd innings at the Anfield. Having already taken the permission of the higher authority to sign a 30-year old player, Rogers is aware what Xabi can contribute to the team. Valued at 3 million pounds, Madrid is eager to sell him off and cash in whatever it gets rather than losing out a player in the next transfer when he runs out of contract. Inclusion to the team, Xabi will bring immense experience and will contribute to the overall development of the team.
